Gaithersburg Grind for RPR

It was a grind just getting to Gaithersburg after many sleepless nights preparing the trucks for Charlotte, then taking a beating there and fixing things in time, but the Equalizer/Hot Tamale team powered through. Despite more engine trouble, this time from Equalizer, the team put forth their best effort. Troy Rose, the racing victor in Charlotte, put Hot Tamale on the tailgate in the wheelie contest as a highlight. Photos from Dustin Hart:

Charlotte Update- Hot Tamale and Troy Rose Win Racing!

Mike Hawkins and Equalizer are known for their success at Charlotte, but on a rainy night and a tricky course, it was old new guy Troy Rose taking a huge racing victory, just edging out Samson in the final round.
“I was excited to get a big victory like this at such a great show,” said Rose. “I didn’t want to hurt the motor, but I also didn’t want to lose!”

Equalizer and Hot Tamale are just wrapping up their shows in Gaithersburg, Maryland tonight, and we’ll have photos from both shows online shortly!

Hawkins Set to Reclaim Charlotte Titles; Rose to Drive Tamale

Mike Hawkins and Equalizer are currently in preparations for the Dirt Track at Lowe’s Motor Speedway in Charlotte, North Carolina for the annual Back to School Monster Truck Bash. Hawkins is excited to get back into the swing of things and dominate.

“I’ve had some transmission trouble lately, but I’m hoping we have things squared away,” he said. “I’ve won here two out of the last three years, so I’m looking to reclaim my title.”

Also, Troy Rose, who has been driving for four years, will hop in the seat of Hot Tamale while Isaiah is on an extended vacation. He’s already knocked the rust off with a couple of wins in Escanaba, so watch out!

Big Weekend in Beaumont

The Monster Nation tour continued on its third and final stop at Ford Park in Beaumont, Texas for a three show weekend. Friday night started off well as Mike Hawkins piloted the Equalizer to a freestyle victory. Unfortunately for Hawkins, a blown motor would sideline him for the rest of the weekend. Isias Morales stepped up in Hot Tamale to fill the void and did so in spectacular fashion. Morales picked up a wheelie contest win along with two freestyle wins including a spectacular backflip attempt that resulted in a rollover.
